FIFTY MORE

Gnosis 54 views

**FIFTY MORE** is a dark theatrical retelling of one of the most severe prophetic encounters in the Hebrew Bible, drawn directly from **2 Kings 1:2–15**, especially **2 Kings 1:9–15**.

King Ahaziah lies sick and sends men to seize Elijah. A captain approaches the prophet with fifty soldiers and delivers the king’s command:

“Man of God… come down.”

Elijah answers with a challenge.

If he truly is a man of God, let fire come down from heaven.

And according to the text, it does.

The king sends another captain.

Another fifty men climb the same hill.

Another command is given.

And once again, fire falls.

**FIFTY MORE** turns that brief biblical account into a full theatrical story—imagining the pounding footsteps up the mountain, the smoke left behind by the first company, the fear of the soldiers who follow, and the moment when the third captain finally approaches Elijah very differently from the men who came before him.

The added atmosphere and dialogue are dramatic storytelling, but the core events remain rooted in the biblical account: **two captains, two groups of fifty, fire from heaven, and a third captain who falls before Elijah and pleads for the lives of himself and his men.**

This track is not meant to soften the story or explain it away. It simply brings the scene to life and lets the text leave its own questions behind.
