“The Boiling Pot” is a dark cinematic biblical rock retelling of Ezekiel 24:1–14, one of the Bible’s most disturbing prophetic images.

Jerusalem is no longer described as a shining city behind fortified walls. In Ezekiel’s vision, it becomes a bronze cooking pot sitting directly over the fire.

The command is simple:

Set the pot down.
Pour in the water.
Fill it with choice pieces of meat and bone.
Pile the wood beneath it.
And make it boil.

But this is no feast.

The pieces inside the vessel represent the people of Jerusalem, trapped within the city as the Babylonian siege begins. The same walls they trusted for protection become the sides of the pot holding them over the flame.

Then the imagery becomes even stranger.

The meat is removed piece by piece, but the pot itself remains contaminated. Blood has been poured onto exposed rock instead of being covered with dust. Corruption has clung to the bronze like rust that cannot be scrubbed away.

So the empty vessel is returned to the fire.

Hotter.

Bare.

Until the bronze itself begins to glow.

That transformation is the heart of “The Boiling Pot.”

Heavy electric bass and slow, crushing drums carry the song while male and female vocals move between narration and the relentless refrain:

Boiling pot.
Bronze and bone.
Bones against bronze.
Blood on the rock.

The song doesn’t attempt to soften Ezekiel’s imagery. It follows the metaphor into the furnace—the boiling flesh, exposed blood, stained metal, empty vessel, and fire that refuses to go out.

By the end, there is no meal.

No celebration.

No clean vessel.

Only blackened bronze, ashes, bone, and the unsettling realization contained in the final line:

“Set the pot upon the fire.”

“The city was already inside.”
