FEET OF CLAY is a dark, theatrical retelling of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2.
The king wakes terrified, haunted by a dream he can no longer fully recall. He demands that Babylon’s wise men reveal both the dream and its meaning, but none of them can answer. Daniel seeks the mystery in prayer, then stands before the king and describes the towering image: a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, and feet mixed with iron and clay.
The statue appears powerful, but its entire weight rests on a divided and fragile foundation. A stone cut without human hands strikes the image at its feet, bringing the whole structure down. Gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay are crushed together and carried away by the wind, while the stone remains and grows into a mountain.
The song stays within the imagery and tension of the text: kingdoms rise, rulers claim permanence, and empires appear unbreakable—yet hidden beneath their glory is the fracture that will eventually bring them down.
